A high performance, high capacity solution for bar code labeling of microplates. The workcell consists of a 600 dpi Printer - Applicator and a Hudson PlateCrane microplate handling robot. The Print & Apply™ Workcell is an integrated platform designed to be installed in any laboratory. The Workcell configuration allows easy installation onto a standard laboratory bench. The software provides a graphical user interface for operation of all components and is based on Hudson's SoftLinx automation software. A graphical, easy-to-use WYSIWYG interface is used for label design.
Bar Code Print and Apply Workcell - Accessories

When configured with a PlateCrane with rotating gripper, the workcell allows labels to be applied to any or all sides of a microplate. This picture shows a close-up of the PlateCrane rotating gripper, the Plate Nest, and the label applicator 600 dpi printer provides the resolution needed for reproducible printing on labels sized for microplates. The capability to use labels up to 3.3" wide allows use of longer bar codes and the printing of human readable text next to the bar code.
The Print & Apply Workcell offers individual laboratories Walkaway Automation for labeling microplates. Depending on the configuration, up to 420 microplates can be loaded and then automatically labeled. The potential inaccuracies (as well as operator tedium) of manual labeling are therefore avoided.
